But in all honesty, I feel like Evans is trying too hard and it hasn’t worked. Something about his demeanor on the show is cringeworthy and sometimes just plain annoying.

He was lound, annoying and unoriginal (at least in my opinion). And I don’t really care why.

He’s English. That’s the way they are. There’s nothing wrong with him. I’m guessing you’re a Yank. The problem lies with you. Don’t worry, they won’t hold it against you. Watch Fawlty Towers, you'll learn to love the English.

It isn’t really surprising. He’s been a horrible punchable broadcaster for over two decades. The fact that he’s now getting inflicted upon the US is reason enough to call off the “special relationship.”
Basically imagine Jimmy Fallon* with a longer career and a seven figure salary funded by the public. That’s Chris Evans.
*I actually don’t hate Jimmy Fallon, but I realize I’m alone in that.

If only Terry Crews was really a part of the cast.

Special emphasis on loud . Then again I’m only 3/4 way through the show. I haven’t been able to watch it cover to cover, so to speak.

Don’t find him funny. Plenty dynamic...but not at all funny.
